About First Roots Farm
All flower uPicks, photography sessions, workshops, and on-farm events require advance ticket purchase through our website.
First Roots Farm is our family-owned flower farm and wedding florist in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. We grow 2 acres of cut flowers for weddings, our Flower CSA, local businesses, The Flower Bar, special events, flower uPicks, flower field photography, and seasonal agritourism experiences.
From July through Sept., we welcome guests to the farm for ticketed flower uPicks, family-friendly events, workshops, story time, photography sessions, and other seasonal experiences surrounded by thousands of blooms. The farm is also home to our AKKPS Kunekune pigs.
We believe in growing wild, picking joy, and letting yourself bloom!

We do not live in the area, but this flower farm was well worth the drive. There are so many varieties of flowers to choose from which makes it fun building your own bouquet. Our kiddos loved the piglets and chickens! We will be coming back.

We had a Wonderful experience at first Roots Farm. Janell was so welcoming and interesting as she shared the highlights of their amazing property. Everyone had a great time and loved the bouquet that we were able to put together. I highly recommend visiting this gorgeous place.

I visited First Root’s Farm yesterday for the first time. I participated in flower picking along with a mini photo session. This place is absolutely amazing. It is so beautiful with all of the flowers and the pigs and chickens were a nice added touch to the whole atmosphere. The people who owned the farm were there and were extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions. I will definitely be visiting this farm in the future as it was a wonderful day.

We had a great time. Everyone was so nice and it is truly nature at its finest. Butterflies, piggies, a pony and beautiful blossoms...what more could you want?

I can’t recommend First Roots Farm enough! Their florals are stunning, well cared for and very long lasting. Janell put together these gorgeous arrangements for a very special senior session on a rowboat and really leveled up the images as a result. This session just simply wouldn’t have been the same without her talent for growing and deciding which florals would look best. Janell’s attention to detail is truly second to none. She is a talented grower with a deep passion for not only her farm but for her growing business and everyone who comes in contact with it. She is a genius at connecting with others and truly thinks outside the box. I love seeing her business flourish because she totally gets it! The heart behind any strong business is the connections built with people. The First Roots Farm is just gorgeous! They have the perfect backdrop for a memorable time amongst beautiful flowers with friends and family. Highly recommend!
